About Me
“bc” – reach me about all things Bradley Beach at: bc@bradleybch.com
I moved to Bradley Beach in 1997, to escape the rat race – which claimed my only brother (coincidentally named Bradley), shortly thereafter. Since then, I’ve sought to live here in peace. Bradley Beach has been that place for me.
The spirit of the native islanders is one of live and let live. I have learned much from these neighbors, whom I respect and enjoy. These folks seldom complain, and only wish to be treated fairly.
Preserving the island’s character and way of life is not about making folks conform to your ideas, but about accepting that you are lucky enough to live in this beautiful place that does not need fixing.
It’s truly not hard to be a good neighbor. But sadly a few of the newcomers, (referred to in Gullah as “Com’yas”) wish to impose their way of life on others.
Same goes for some Town officials… who are supposed to work for residents and guests; not dictate to them from a specific agenda, and represent only those who support a similar agenda.
Everyone should strive to be a ‘good neighbor’ and learn from those who have been here the longest; because if they did then most of the world’s difficulties would disappear. Peace
